Advanced gaseous detectors play a major role in modern day particle physics experiments. As spinoff they also find wide range of applications in the areas of medical imaging, radiography among others. In this regard a two days International Workshop on Advanced Detectors (IWAD) is being organized during 27-28 October 2014 at VECC-SINP campus, Kolkata, INDIA. The workshop would be followed by 14th RD51 collaboration meeting at the same venue.

Areas to be covered in the workshop :

1. Micropattern Gas Detectors (MPGD).

2. Resistive Plate Chambers (RPC).

3. Applications of advanced detectors in High Energy Physics.

4. Applications of advanced detectors in Medical and other areas.

The RD51 meeting program would consist of sessions on techniques, detector physics issues, simulations, applications, electronics and common production and test facilities. If you are planning to attend the meeting and present your work please contact the corresponding group convenors and register. Looking forward to see you in Kolkata.
