Quarkonia measurements on the first year of proton-proton collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV in ALICE.

Content: S.Pal for the ALICE Collaboration ALICE is the dedicated heavy-ion physics experiment at LHC. It is designed to provide excellent means to study the quark-gluon plasma, a deconfined state of matter assumed to be created under extreme conditions of temperature and/or baryonic density. A very promising observable is the production of quarkonia, including all the J/ψ and Y states. Proton-proton collisions at 7 TeV allows us to calibrate and prepare our detectors for the heavy-ion collisions; and more important, the properties of these collisions set the baseline for the nucleus-nucleus collisions. We will present the current status of the physics analysis and the obtained results on the charmoinum production in proton-proton collisions at 7 TeV in the electron channel at mid-rapidity and in the muon channel at 2.5
