Dear Colleagues,

This is the final announcement for the 6th International Conference on Physics and Astrophysics of Quark Gluon Plamsa (ICPAQGP 2010) to be held at Goa, India from December 6 to December 10, 2010. The Conference will include a Student Day on Sunday, December 5. The Conference will end after lunch on Friday, December 10.

Student Day: 

We have put together an impressive program for the Student Day which will be held at NIO Auditorum on December 5, 2010.

Although the lectures are intended for students and young reserachers, other participants who are present at Goa during the day on December 5 are most welcome to attend the talks. However, prior intimation on participation to the Student Day lectures will be appreciated.


The Conference venue is the Auditorium (also called Cadium) of the National Institute of Oceanography, Donna Paula, Goa. Parallel sessions will be held in the Auditorium as well as in other two halls in the main building of the Institute.

Registration and Conference Fees:

The registration information is available in the Conference webpage. Please complete the registration formalities if you have not done so. Those who intend to attend the Conference, and not yet registered, please register now (note: Late Conference Fee will be applicable).

Conference Office and Registration Desk:

The Conference Office will start functioning in the lobby of NIO Auditorium from December 5, 2010. We would like to request you to come to the registration desk to collect all the relevant information. Participants getting support may please bring the support letter at the registration desk.

Scientific Program:

The Scientific Program link to the Conference webpage gives the tentative program for the Student Day and Plenary Sessions. The Timetable link lists the program in indico.

We received about 160 contributed abstracts for oral and poster presentations. The Program Committee, in cooperation with the International Advisory Committee, has selected 63 talks for the oral presentations. The schedule for the parallel sessions will be posted soon.We would like to request the speakers to upload their presentation files in pdf or ppt format to the indico page in advance.

Posters Session: The information about poster presentations has been intimated to the respective contributors. The posters will be of size: 80cm width x 100cm length. The posters will be displayed on the first floot of the NIO auditorium. The contributors are requested to place the posters in the afternoon of December 6. A dedicated poster session will be held on Tuesday (December 7, 2010) evening.

Instruction to the Speakers:

Please note that there will be no overhead projector. Only digital material, like ppt or pdf will be used. The alloted time mentioned in the agenda include discussion times. The parallel sessions are of 20 mins. duration.

Please upload your talk to indico page in the Timetable link before the Conference. You can also bring your talk on a USB pendrive to be loaded to our computer in the venue and to indico.


We are pleased to inform you that the Proceedings of ICPAQGP 2010 will be published by Nuclear Physics A. The publication details (and the author instructions) will be posted at a later time.


Social Program:

  • Welcome reception will take place on Sunday evening from 18:00 to 20:00 hrs in the NIO Auditorium.
  • The Conference Dinner will be held in the evening of December 8 in the lawns of Hotel Goan Heritage. This hotel is about 30 mins by car/bus from the venue. Buses will depart from the parking lot of NIO Auditorium at 18:15 hrs.
  • Excursion: The afternoon of December 9 (Thursday) is reserved for conference excursion.  


Financial Support:

We have accommodated majority of the support requests. Participants receiving support have been notified separatey. Details of their accommodation will be posted in the web-page before the Conference.


The accommodation link of the webpage gives details of the nearby hotels. The responsibility of booking the hotels lies with the individual. Accommodation details for support applicants will be posted before the Conference. If you have further question, please feel free to write to the Convenor at icpaqgp2010@vecc.gov.in mentioning Accommodation in the subject line.

Travel Service and Travel Desk:
We have requested The Masala Travel Company to have a travel desk on the venue during the Conference days. They will help in all matters related to travel.
Accompanying person program:
The Masala Travel Company at the travel desk will organize short and day trips around Goa. Please contact the travel desk for details.

Visa Infomation:

All visitors to India require valid visa. Please apply for visa in advance in order to avoid delays. If you need further information, don't hesitate to contact the Convenor at icpaqgp2010@vecc.gov.in
